Course Registration
|
|
On-Site Registration |
Horton High School, Central Kings Rural High and Northeast Kings Education Centre will conduct registration for AP courses during the normal registration period in late February/earlyMarch. Students should be aware of the fact when registering that Advanced Placement courses are two semester courses. Each school schedules these classes in different ways so students should contact the AP teacher to see how the course is structured within the yearly timetable. Students considering AP courses should be aware of the academic requirements necessary to enroll and be successful in an AP course. |
Virtual Registration |
Students wishing to register for the Virtual AP courses must submit an application form by March 9, 2011. Forms must first go to school AP contacts so that a record of marks can be attached. The application must include a teacher reference, a personal virtual assessment form and a record of marks. The application form will be reviewed by the AP teaching staff and the student will be notified of their acceptance or non-acceptance to the program. Prior to registration the AP Coordinator will visit all schools to answer questions students may have about the AP program. A meeting for interested parents with AP staff will also be held if requested. The date of such a meeting will be posted on the AP website in advance of the meeting and will be communicated to parents through the school. Information Brochures are designed to provide students and parents with points to be considered during the application process. General information on the AVRSB program can be found in the promotional powerpoint developed by the AVRSB. Prospective students may also e-mail the course instructor for further information about the course prior to applying. |
