The first inductee in The Loyal Order of Dachshunds is none other than

Denis Potvin

Due to his lofty status as an actual Dachshund, The Loyal Order of Dachshunds has waived the obligatory five year waiting period for induction to the upper chamber. Denis proved his worth in his sixth week, traveling over 1500 kilometers to get to his new home. Young Potvin has been selected not only to the upper chamber of the Loyal Order of Dachshunds, but has been appointed the most lofty award as leader of this institution.

It was brought to the attention of the LOoD that there is, in fact, another Denis Potvin. Interestingly enough, he too seems to have commanded a great deal of respect in his chosen field.

A comparison of these elite Denis Potvins.

VERDICT:

Too close to call. If you want to look at accomplishments, "Old" Denis has more in his trophy cabinet than "Young" Denis. Both of these superstars are in a transitional phase. Now 46 years old, "Old" Denis will never match his four consecutive Stanley Cups with the Islanders. "Young" Denis, on the other hand, seems to have a bright future ahead of him. Since you can't live in the past, we'll give the nod to "Young" Denis Potvin, but we sincerely hope he shares in the levels of success of Potvin senior.
